DAY 1
Meals included: Lunch and Dinner
Departing Adelaide at 6.15am – we make our way to Cape Jervis and transfer to the Sealink Ferry. The journey across the Backstairs Passage is aboard a modern and comfortable vehicle ferry.
Once on the island we first make our way to visit the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus distillery where gum leaves are processed to extract the eucalyptus oil for medicines soaps, skin lotions and more.
After a picnic lunch in the Flinders Chase National Park the rest of the day will be spent visiting natural wonders such as the Remarkable Rocks, Cape De Couedic and Admirals Arch.
Late afternoon we head to our comfortable private accommodation at The Woolshed KI. A big Aussie barbecue is planned around a campfire. After dinner there will be an optional tour to see the night wildlife and the amazing stars of the Southern Hemisphere.
DAY 2
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast, we travel to the south coast which has many weather-worn natural structures and is home to large Australian Sea Lion colony.
At Seal Bay Conservation Park, we will join a ranger guided walk among a rare colony of seals that will teach us all we need to know about these fascinating animals.
Late morning, we will head to Kangaroo Island’s Little Sahara for some sandboarding fun.
Next, we travel to Vivonne Bay to enjoy one of the Island’s most beautiful beaches. This idyllic Aussie beach gives us opportunities to search in rock pools, play beach games or just walk along the shores to enjoy the atmosphere.
Driving the roads around the area provides plenty of kangaroo spotting too. In the late afternoon the final stop on the island will be Clifford’s Honey Farm, which is home to the purest strain of the Ligurian bee. Here you can buy fine honey and other products, which are produced from the Island’s diverse flora.
Late afternoon we head back to Penneshaw to transfer onto the 4.30pm Sealink ferry connection. A light pizza dinner will be on offer at Normanville on our way to Adelaide.
