Kangaroo Island Tour

Day 1
Pick-Up from a pre-arranged central location. Leaving the city centre, we will meander through the Mclaren Vale wine region and the rolling hills of the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis. Transfer to the Sealink Ferry. The journey across the Backstairs Passage is aboard a modern and comfortable vehicle ferry. Once on the Island we will climb Prospect Hill so as to take in the views of Pelican Lagoon. We make our way to Kingscote. A chance to look around the town that was to be South Australia’s capital city before enjoying a pub meal at the Ozone Hotel. After lunch we travel to Stokes Bay along the North Coast Rd, here we enjoy the one of the Island’s most beautiful beach by either walking or for the more adventurous a dip in the pristine waters. Later in the afternoon we head to the Hanson Bay Koala Sanctuary. Here we can see koalas in their natural habitat. Next stop is Flinders Chase Farm, our accommodation for the evening. A big Aussie BBQ is planned around a bon-fire. After dinner, there will be an optional tour around the farm to see the night wildlife and the amazing stars of the Southern Hemisphere.

Day 2
After breakfast at our accommodation before we head off to explore some of South Australia’s premier natural wonders. First, we head into the Flinders Chase National Park and explore the Remarkable Rocks, Cape De Couedic and Admirals Arch. The south coast has many weather worn natural structures, and as we will see, some have become home to large sea lion colonies. After lunch at one of Australia’s most beautiful beaches, we head off on for our guided walk through Seal Bay. Later in the afternoon there is an opportunity to do shopping at some of the Island's local producers. First stop, Emu Ridge Eucalyptus distillery. An old farming industry where gum leaves are processed to extract the eucalyptus oil for medicines, soaps, skin lotions and more. Next is Clifford’s Honey Farm, which is home to the purest strain of the Ligurian bee. Here you can buy fine honey and other products, which is produced from the Island’s diverse flora. Dinner at Marty’s Pizza Bar before catching the 7.30pm ferry back to Adelaide.
