Eyre Peninsula Tour
Depart Adelaide for four days of adventure and learning. We make our way to Coodlie Park, which is based on a 3000-acre cereal & sheep farming property that boasts its own private beach. Here we will enjoy a gourmet BBQ that is cooked in the camp oven. After dinner, we shall set off on a Wombat & Wildlife Tour where there will be the opportunity to see wombats, kangaroos & emus in their natural environment. During this tour you will also discover & learn about the stars in the southern hemisphere.
This morning we drive to Baird Bay where we board the MV Investigator for an unforgettable wildlife experience. On the 5 kilometre journey to a lagoon near Cape Radstock (at 160 metres, it is one of the highest sheer points on the southern coast of Australia) you can watch Bottlenose dolphins ride the bow wave of the boat, and join these magnificent mammals in shallow water. Cross the bay to visit a resident colony of rare Australian sea lions and experience playing face to face with these agile and friendly mammals as we wade in protected shallow lagoons. In the evening we will enjoy the “Sunset Tour” to watch the sun disappear over the Great Australian Bight with complementary red or white wines.
It is only a short drive to the Taila Caves where we can explore the stunning rock formations. After lunch we make our way back to Port Lincoln where you will learn about the history of fishing of tuna farming, prawning & rock lobster fishing. Here you will be able to sample prawns and locally farmed mussels. Late in the afternoon, there will be an opportunity to shop for last minute souvenirs. Overnight in Port Lincoln.
We make our way back to Adelaide via the scenic Southern Flinders where we will enjoy some time in the Mount Remarkable National Park.
